The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, has launched a factory for installing insulation and heat preservation systems in pipes that will transport crude oil from Hoima in Uganda to Chongoleani in Tanga, Tanzania, through the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project.

TANZANIA: REA AND TANESCO INVEST 48 BILLION TO ELECTRIFY 5,000 HOMES IN TANGA VILLAGES.

The Rural Energy Agency (REA), in collaboration with the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), on March 21, 2024, entered into a partnership to start implementing Phase Two of the project to distribute electricity to 5,000 houses in the villages of Msomera, Saunyi, and Kitwai B in Handeni district, Tanga region, with the project costing 48 billion shillings.

TANZANIA: REA INVESTS 44 BILLION IN RURAL ELECTRICITY PROJECTS IN PWANI REGION.

REA (Rural Energy Agency) spends 44 billion to build electricity distribution projects in rural areas in the Pwani Region. Engineer Saidy said the project aims to bring electricity to 30 small mines in the districts of Bagamoyo, Chalinze, and Kisarawe, as well as to agricultural areas not yet served by electricity in the Pwani Region, costing more than 2.456 billion shillings.
