The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) hosted a delegation from the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) on 1st September 2025 at its headquarters in Dodoma. The visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the energy sector.
During the meeting, both institutions engaged in discussions aimed at sharing experiences and best practices in electricity regulation, focusing on strategies that improve efficiency, reliability, and consumer protection. EWURA highlighted its regulatory frameworks and approaches that have contributed to Tanzania’s expanding energy sector.
The discussions also included exploring potential areas of collaboration between EWURA and LERC, such as joint training programs, technical assistance, and policy alignment. Both parties emphasized the importance of leveraging each other’s expertise to address common challenges in energy regulation.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain continued communication and cooperation, signaling a commitment to enhancing service delivery for electricity consumers in both countries. Such collaborations are expected to support capacity building and the adoption of innovative regulatory practices across the region.
