Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), TotalEnergies, and EPointZero have signed a Framework for Action (FFA) agreement to expand clean energy access in emerging markets and developing economies across Africa and Asia. The agreement brings together key players in the renewable energy sector to accelerate decarbonization and ensure sustainable energy solutions for local communities. This collaboration highlights the commitment of these organizations to addressing energy poverty while fostering economic growth through clean energy initiatives.

Under the FFA, Masdar and TotalEnergies will enhance cooperation to deliver reliable and sustainable electricity in Africa while also working on clean energy projects in Southeast Asia. Additionally, TotalEnergies and EPointZero will explore opportunities to support India’s clean energy ambitions through solar, wind, and energy storage. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to decarbonization efforts and create a long-term transformation in energy systems.

The agreement was formalized at the third plenary meeting of the UAE-France High-Level Business Council in Paris on February 16. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and other key leaders, emphasizing the strategic importance of this collaboration. The partnership aligns with the UAE-France Comprehensive Strategic Energy Partnership and the UAE-France Bilateral Climate Investment Platform, reinforcing their commitment to a low-carbon future.

Commenting on the agreement, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, stated that this partnership underscores a shared commitment to socio-economic growth and global energy transformation. Stéphane Michel, President for Gas Renewable and Power at TotalEnergies, emphasized that leveraging the combined expertise of Masdar, EPointZero, and TotalEnergies will drive renewable energy expansion in fast-developing markets. Meanwhile, Mariam Almheiri, Group CEO of 2PointZero, highlighted that this collaboration will scale up renewables, expand energy storage, and ensure reliable power for millions in Africa, India, and Asia.
