The leading company is Saudi Arabia's aramco, which earned $121 billion in net profit. This is down from $161 billion in 2022. The decline in profits was due to falling crude oil prices and sales volumes, as well as lower profitability in the refining and chemical industries.
Aramco is considered one of the most financially stable companies in Asia and the world. By comparison, the largest oil company, ExxonMobil, made three times less profit - $36 billion. Other companies, such as Chevron and TotalEnergies, earned significantly less, with each reporting $21 billion in profits.
Petrobras, the leader in South America, also stands out. The state-owned Brazilian company earned $25 billion, surpassing giants like Chevron, Shell, bp, and TotalEnergies.
Kazakhstan's national company KazMunayGas earned $2 billion in net profit in 2023 (for comparison - 60 times less than aramco). Slightly higher was Eni, with the Italian state participation, which earned $5 billion.
