During a meeting on July 17, 2025, at PURA’s Dar es Salaam office, Jeremy Martin, Regional Manager for Octant, revealed that the company has identified eight potential drilling locations following a successful reinterpretation of 3D seismic data.
Octant is currently in the early stages of assessing local service and product availability to support the drilling project. Jeremy stated, “By understanding the capacity of local service providers, Octant can better plan for project implementation and develop a realistic plan for Tanzanian participation.”

Similarly, Charles Nyangi, Head of Local Content and Stakeholder Engagement at PURA, said, “Octant’s actions exemplify the requirements of the 2015 Petroleum Act to prioritize Tanzanian services and providers in oil and gas projects.”
