Oil-producing communities in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, have urged oil companies and authorities to address environmental risks from ageing pipelines, abandoned wellheads and gas flaring.
Community leaders called for stronger pipeline protection and maintenance to prevent oil spills, environmental damage and loss of livelihoods.
PINL reported two months without pipeline vandalism in its operational areas and emphasised cooperation among communities, government and oil companies to protect infrastructure and support sustainable development.
