The Saudi Electricity Company stated that the Hajj that Just concluded recorded the highest power use in Hajj history and it is enough for a city with 5 million people!

When the name of the Saudi Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, is mentioned, people associate the name with oil and OPEC/OPEC+. Here is part of his job that most people do not know about.

The Hajj is just concluded. Millions of Muslims from around the world come to Saudi Arabia to the Holy Cities of Mecca and Al Madina at the same time to perform Hajj and leave within a couple of weeks. Thousands of planes, tens of thousands of buses and cars, hundreds of boats and ferries...all need fuel.

Hundreds of thousands of hotel rooms need lighting, cooling, internet service, etc. Managing energy requirements without a single gas station running out of gasoline or diesel and without any power outages is a huge task. Managing jet fuel supplies at airports alone is a big task. Imagine the level coordination with refiners and distributors months ahead of time! He leads all these efforts.
