SLB One Subsea and Subsea7 have announced a long-term strategic collaboration agreement with Equinor and have initiated work on two of its deepwater projects. Under this agreement, the two subsea companies, operating as the Subsea Integration Alliance, will become involved in Equinor projects at an early stage as contractors. They will participate in joint concept studies and collaborate on development.

The collaboration has already begun work on joint concept studies for Equinor’s Wisting field in Norway and the Bay Du Nord project off Canada’s east coast. This approach marks a new way for Equinor to develop projects, involving the selection of suppliers at an early stage and demonstrating confidence in the Subsea Integration Alliance.

Equinor's senior vice president for project development, Trond Bokn, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “Equinor is working hard to improve and mature the Wisting and Bay du Nord projects. Selecting the supplier at this early stage is a new way of approaching project development for us, and a vote of confidence to Subsea Integration Alliance. We look forward to developing concepts together, in a process with full visibility on profitability, and joint efforts to make these challenging projects sanctionable.
