Tanzania and the Kingdom of Morocco have pledged to enhance their partnership in the energy sector, focusing on the use of advanced technologies to drive sustainable development. The two nations aim to transform their energy landscapes through joint initiatives in electricity, oil, and renewable energy.

This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between Tanzania’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, and Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali. “Our 2016 MoU laid the foundation, but now we are pushing for strategic energy investments that support industrial and mining sectors,” said Dr. Biteko.

Both parties emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange among technical experts to maximize sector performance and national economic impact. Sharing experience between Tanzania and Morocco is expected to enhance the energy sector's productivity and regional competitiveness.

Minister Benali praised Tanzania’s leadership under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, especially in advancing access to clean cooking energy. “There can be no development in darkness—energy access is the path to prosperity and dignity for our people,” she said.
