Zanzibar's Minister for Water, Energy, and Minerals, Mr. Shaib Hassan Kaduara, has praised Puma Energy Tanzania for its significant contribution to advancing the government’s vision of sustainable and inclusive energy solutions. Speaking at the launch of Puma Energy’s first fuel station in Zanzibar’s Fuoni region, the minister emphasized the company's pivotal role in strengthening the energy sector and supporting the island's economic growth. The establishment of this station marks an important milestone in Zanzibar's energy development and demonstrates Puma Energy’s commitment to the region.
Minister Kaduara highlighted Puma Energy's consistent support for Zanzibar's aviation sector, ensuring a reliable supply of aviation fuel that has greatly contributed to the growth of tourism. He acknowledged that the availability of aviation fuel has enabled travelers from around the world to visit Zanzibar without any challenges, thus enhancing the island's reputation as a premier tourist destination. Tourism is a vital sector for Zanzibar's economy, and Puma Energy’s involvement plays a key role in sustaining this growth.
In addition to its contributions to the energy sector, the minister noted Puma Energy's engagement in community development projects. One such project is the improvement of infrastructure at Kisiwandui School, which has directly benefitted over 2,000 students. Minister Kaduara assured the government’s continued partnership with Puma Energy, underscoring the importance of universal energy access for the prosperity of Zanzibar and ensuring that no one is left behind in the country’s development.
